The joy of salaried life

Filed under: General, Musing, Life — webmaster @ 5:40 am

It’s Saturday morning, getting close to 7.oo AM.  I am about to get dressed and go to work.  This will be the seventh day I have worked in the past seven days.  Will my paycheck reflect this at the end of the week?  No. It will be identical to the check from the week before.  This is due to the wonders of salariedwork.

The other side of that coin is the check will be of a decent size, probably more than that of the highest paid hourly worker, with overtime.  So, this isn’t so much a complaint, though perhaps a little, as an observation.

For How Many Years?

Filed under: General, Musing, Life — webmaster @ 4:41 pm

This must be something like it felt five years after the end of WWI on November 11, Remeberance Day now, but Armistice Day then. It must have felt for them then as it does now to a Manhattanite. I have no grip on it. I watched every minute from when the second plane hit to when the towers fell and the people ran from the gray cloud. Then the days following finding out who I knew that was killed. Not if I knew, but just who.

For how many years did it feel this way on November 11? For how many years will it feel this way for September 11?

It Might to Take a While

Filed under: General, Blogging — webmaster @ 2:47 pm

With all of the other Blogs running, until we get this one hooked in to Performancing, it may be a while before the blog entries, especially ones of any great interest are posted here.  We are also not sure how this is going to be set up.  A work in progress, in deed!

We just signed on to NetFirm

Filed under: General — webmaster @ 10:26 pm

This is the firm recommended on CommandN. So far, it isn’t too confusing. It will take a day or two to bring the two Grazing Press Blogs together, but we will do this, hook-crook, etc.
